The Eco-Check: Free Label Checklist

Shop natural products without the guesswork

"Natural," "clean," "eco-friendly": labels are full of words that sound reassuring but don't always tell you much. The Eco-Check is a simple, free checklist that helps you look past the front of the pack and see what a product actually says.

I won't tell you what to buy. This checklist gives you the questions to ask, so you can decide what's right for you.

What's inside

Five steps you can use on any food, skincare, or household product:

  1. Ingredients: what's in it, and in what order?
  2. Claims: what does the front say, and what does it mean?
  3. Certifications: who issued the logo, and can you verify it?
  4. Packaging: what does it say, and what's missing?
  5. Fit: is it right for your needs, budget, and priorities?

There's also a notes section at the end, so you can write down what you found and make your own decision.

How to use it

Print it or keep it on your phone. Pick a product from your kitchen, bathroom, or shopping basket and work through the five steps. There are no scores and no right or wrong answers.
